Improving data communication on construction sites via LoRaWAN

Abstract Easily-accessible and reliable data communication in construction processes ensures high building quality, efficient workflow secure working environments. The setup of network infrastructure on sites provides the necessary condition for timely effective communication. This paper researches a solution on-site networking by implementing an IoT reference site Germany. In contrast to high-cost high-bandwidth infrastructure, Long Range Wide Area Network–LoRaWAN with low cost bandwidth was deployed site. With additional servers LoRa-enabled devices, is able communicate remotely robotic lab. order validate this concept LoRaWAN sites, intra-site logistics task scheduling system developed test performance. conducts preliminary study application technology–LoRaWAN automation construction. results can be used as references other applications, such internet robot, intelligent process management, decision making system, etc.
